That Towering Cross
by Laurie Whitaker
I’d like to invite you to the Central Alberta Pregnancy Care Centre Easter Production:
This musical production will be a wonderful way to enter into the Easter season. A time of reflection, hope and joy.
The people I know who are involved in the drama and choir are keeping the story line really hush-hush, but this is what they have said:
“In this gripping production, Anna returns to the small town church she grew up attending for its annual Easter production after a ten year absence. When she meets Josh after the performance, her view of the cross as a tired, old symbol is challenged not only by his invitation to imagine it differently, but her need for it to be something more.”
Attending this production is also one way that you can help support the Pregnancy Care Centre’s housing project. There will be an opportunity to give as an offering will be taken at the production with all proceeds going towards the home that will allow moms a safe and healthy place to start on their parenting journey. This new facility will also eventually house all of the existing Pregnancy Care Centre programs and offices.
Performances are Thursday and Friday March 26 and 27 at 7 p.m., and Saturday March 28 at 2:30 in the afternoon and in the evening at 7 — all at the Memorial Centre. Tickets have been purchased by sponsors so the event is free to attend. It would be a great way to get you ready for Easter and a quality event to invite your neighbours and friends to attend with you.Even though the tickets are at no charge, you must have one in order to attend. You can get tickets by calling the Centre at 403-343-1611. Tickets can also be picked up at 53rd Street Music (4902 53 St, Red Deer) and Scott’s Parable in Gasoline Alley. There are also tickets available through CrossRoads people who are involved in the production. If you need help locating tickets you can also contact me (LaurieW@CrossRoadsChurch.ca) and I will direct you to someone.
